The Partit Nazzjonalista has extended its best wishes to Team Malta as the country’s athletes begin competing at the 2026 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. In a statement, the Opposition wished every Maltese competitor success as they take part in their respective events, highlighting the importance of representing Malta on the international stage.
The PN described representing Malta as “both a great honour and a significant achievement,” praising the dedication, discipline and sacrifices made by the athletes in preparation for the Games. It added that their commitment is “a source of pride and inspiration for the entire country.”
The statement also welcomed a milestone for Maltese sport, noting the country’s historic debut in para sport at the Commonwealth Games. The PN wished Malta’s para athlete and the Malta Paralympic Committee every success during the competition, describing the occasion as an important moment for Maltese sporting history.
The Opposition further extended its support to the entire Maltese delegation, led by the Maltese Olympic Committee (MOC), including the athletes, coaches, officials and support staff accompanying Team Malta throughout the Games.
Shadow Minister for Sport Graham Bencini said the PN is confident that the Maltese contingent “will give their utmost and make Malta and Gozo proud” as they compete against athletes from across the Commonwealth.
As Team Malta begins its Glasgow 2026 campaign, supporters across Malta and Gozo will be hoping for strong performances and memorable achievements.
