Prime Minister Robert Abela has inaugurated two new hotels in Gozo during two separate events on the island. The new properties are the Reef Hotel & Spa in Victoria and Hotel Ben in Marsalforn, described as two hotels reflecting private investment that is continuing to strengthen Gozo’s tourism product.

During the visits, the Prime Minister, accompanied by Minister for Gozo and Planning Clint Camilleri, observed how both establishments are contributing to what was described as “a quality, sustainable tourism product” focused on “an authentic experience” for visitors and tourists choosing Gozo.

Hotel Ben in Marsalforn is affiliated with the Meliá group. According to the statement, the hotel is strengthening the tourism offer in the locality through a modern concept that combines comfort, rest and accessibility. Meanwhile, the Reef Hotel & Spa in Victoria includes around 110 rooms, wellness facilities and event spaces.

During the two visits, Dr Abela said that Gozo has an important role in the Malta Vision 2050, as the island offers distinctive characteristics increasingly sought by tourists, including authenticity, tranquillity and its unique character as an island of villages. He added that the government will continue to encourage sustainable tourism investment that creates year-round economic activity, supports local businesses and offers greater stability for workers in the sector.
