Malta has witnessed two new national records in local broadcasting, both certified by The Malta Records and achieved by presenters from Calypso Radio 101.8.

The first record celebrates “the longest-running radio programme broadcast on the same day, time, and by the same presenter.” This milestone was achieved by Twanny Scerri, who has been hosting Mużika u Sport every Saturday since 1981 — an impressive 44 years of continuous broadcasting. This remarkable achievement secures Scerri’s place in Malta’s broadcasting history as one of the nation’s most enduring radio figures.

The second record marks “the youngest presenter on a national Maltese radio station.” Jake Mifsud, at just 16 years, 5 months, and 7 days old, began hosting Saturday Night Fever every Saturday from 6:30 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Calypso Radio 101.8. His debut not only sets a record but also highlights the station’s commitment to nurturing young talent and innovation in local media.
