The Nationalist Party has indicated that the Labour Party is leading the 2026 General Election by around 18,000 votes.

The figure was announced by PN General Secretary Charles Bonello while addressing the media from the Vote Counting Complex in Naxxar, where counting is continuing following Saturday’s vote.

Bonello’s comments came as the Nationalist Party conceded defeat in the election, effectively acknowledging that Labour has secured enough support to remain in Government for another term.

If confirmed by the final official results, the margin would represent another victory for the Labour Party and Prime Minister Robert Abela, who appears set to secure a renewed mandate to lead the country.

Despite the figure being quoted by the PN, the Labour Party has so far not confirmed any specific victory margin. Party officials are awaiting further verification and official figures before making statements on the final vote gap.

The reported 18,000-vote lead has already become one of the main talking point, as supporters and political observers closely follow developments from the counting hall in Naxxar.

More details will be added as official figures become available.
