The Prime Minister and leader of the Partit Laburista, Robert Abela, addressed supporters during the party’s first mass rally in Żejtun, emphasising a vision focused on people and future growth.

In his speech, Abela stated, “You are Malta. This electoral campaign will respond to the dreams of each and every one of you,” as he introduced the party’s campaign message. He outlined the first set of proposals forming part of the electoral manifesto, including “a ‘Kick-Start’ plan for youths, the ‘My First Home’ scheme, the ‘Our Next Home’ programme, the best start for families, and a guarantee for the elderly.”

The Prime Minister highlighted that a new Labour government would continue supporting citizens through different stages of life, adding, “I want to be there for you when you need it most… because you are Malta. If you are well, the country is well.”

Among the measures announced, he confirmed tax relief for youths earning up to €30,000 for three years, increased maternity and paternity leave, and further support for first-time buyers. He also pledged that pensions would increase by at least €50 weekly over five years, while remaining untaxed.
Closing his speech, Abela said, “United because we believe in Malta… you are Malta, we are Malta.”
