The Faculty of Theology at the University of Malta, in collaboration with the Malta Archdiocesan Foundation for Theological Studies and the Istitut Agostinjan, has announced two lectures as part of the St Augustine Lecture Series 2026.
The first lecture, marking the 27th edition of the annual series, is titled “Reading Saint Augustine and Renewing Democracy.” It will take place on Wednesday 25 March 2026 at 19:00hrs in Hall B1, Gateway Building, at the University of Malta.
A second lecture, organised by the Istitut Agostinjan, will be held on Thursday 26 March 2026 at 18:00hrs at the Santa Rita Priory.
Both lectures will be delivered by Jean-Marie Salamito, Professor at the Faculté des Lettres of Sorbonne University, described as “an internationally renowned scholar in early Christianity and the thought of Saint Augustine.”
The lecture series will explore themes related to faith, society, and human dignity, bringing academic and theological reflection to contemporary issues.
