Prime Minister Robert Abela has emphasised the importance of young people in Malta’s future during the closing event of the Labour Youths’ campaign.

Addressing those present, Dr Abela described young people as “the beating heart of this country,” praising their energy, vision, ideas and ambition. He said Malta needs its youths to continue moving forward and building on the country’s progress.
The Prime Minister also referred to the “Kickstart” programme, which he said is aimed at helping young people move ahead, whatever their background or interests. He mentioned students, workers, young people who have launched start-ups, and others involved in business, saying they all have a bright future in Malta.
Dr Abela said he wants a Malta where young people can have “the career they want, the home they want,” while also enjoying more time for themselves and more opportunities in life.
He appealed to youths to keep working with the Labour Party and to encourage others to understand the importance of voting and political activism. He also said Labour remains a movement of rights and civil liberties.
