The Nationalist Party has accused the Labour Party of “deceiving the Maltese and Gozitan people,” stating that Labour’s “state of panic” over the credibility of PN Leader Alex Borg is leading it to “fabricating and spreading falsehoods.” According to the PN, Borg has remained consistent with his leadership campaign pledge, including on matters related to the party’s finances.
The PN reiterated that, as Alex Borg promised, “the PN will be submitting its accounts within the first 100 days of his tenure as Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista.” It argued that Labour spent the past three months casting doubt on this commitment, before “inventing a new lie simply because they realised they were about to be exposed as scaremongers.”
The statement insisted that, “unlike the Labour Party, the Partit Nazzjonalista always adheres to its own statute,” adding that this applies “also in the case of its audited accounts.” It called on Labour and Prime Minister Robert Abela to stop creating “new fabrications” and instead address the challenges faced by Maltese and Gozitan families.
The PN also questioned when Robert Abela intends to publish “the spending report for Robert Abela’s own leadership campaign,” noting that “nearly six years have passed, and the public is still waiting for answers.”
