Prime Minister Robert Abela said the Government is committed to ensuring that businesses receive the support they need, as he addressed an event by Tastees Manufacturing Ltd marking the launch of new products and celebrating the company’s long-standing growth since it was founded in 1969. The event highlighted how the company has grown into one of Malta’s leading food manufacturing businesses, with products that have established a strong presence locally and abroad.
During his address, Abela said the Government will continue supporting an economy that helps Maltese and Gozitan businesses expand. He noted that, while many companies across Europe faced major uncertainty, Malta acted to maintain stability in energy prices so businesses could keep planning ahead. He also said the Malta Business Wallet would simplify due diligence and compliance processes.
The Prime Minister added that a resilient future economy requires a workforce prepared for tomorrow’s challenges. Through the “AI għal Kulħadd” initiative, workers will be helped to strengthen their digital skills. He said entities including Malta Enterprise, INDIS Malta and TradeMalta are helping provide the necessary support. Deputy Prime Minister Ian Borg said Tastees shows how Maltese companies can “grow beyond our shores” and promote “the quality and Maltese identity” internationally.
