The Labour Party announced that it raised a record €1,130,016 during a fundraising marathon broadcast on ONE. The figure was confirmed by Labour Party Chief Executive Leonid McKay, who described the amount collected over the course of Sunday as a record. Prime Minister Robert Abela thanked those who contributed, stating that their support enables the government to continue working for Maltese and Gozitan families. During the marathon, a commemorative plaque was unveiled to mark 30 years since the establishment of the National Labour Centre, while restoration works on the façade of the party’s headquarters were also inaugurated. The event also included announcements of new initiatives, including the launch of a party podcast and plans to transform the library at the National Labour Centre.

Meanwhile, the Nationalist Party raised €730,384 during its own fundraising marathon, also held on Sunday. At the close of the event, Nationalist Party Leader Alex Borg expressed his appreciation to donors, volunteers, workers, and all those who dedicated their time to the initiative. Borg stated that a total of €1,253,000 has been collected during his first 100 days as party leader. During interviews aired throughout the broadcast, he reflected on his first 100 days in office, emphasising the importance of maintaining direct contact with the public. He also confirmed that the party’s financial reports will be published.

The Nationalist Party’s fundraising activities were accompanied by a Christmas village themed “Milied Miegħek,” offering festive entertainment. The events are set to conclude with a mass rally marking Borg’s first 100 days as leader.
