Opposition MP Alex Borg has expressed his solidarity with the police officers injured during the incident in Ta’ Ġiorni, as well as with all members of the disciplined forces and emergency services involved in the ongoing operation.
In a statement, Borg said his thoughts were with the injured officers and thanked Malta’s disciplined forces for their dedication to maintaining public order and safety every day.
He noted that members of the disciplined forces often carry out their duties while putting their own lives at risk, describing their commitment as an essential service to the country.
The statement comes as the authorities continue investigating the events that unfolded in Ta’ Ġiorni, where two police officers were shot while responding to a suspected arson case.
