Partit Nazzjonalista Leader Alex Borg declared that “tomorrow I will be presenting our vision for this country,” promising to speak in Parliament “on behalf of those who are suffering, those who need help, and those who long to see new hope in this country.” Speaking at Pjazza Sant’Anna in Sliema during a Qrib Tagħkom event on the eve of the Budget debate, Borg said the PN is “ready to be an alternative government.”

He noted that while Budget 2026 includes “some positive measures” such as tax cuts for parents, it still “fails to address people’s greatest concerns: traffic, hospital queues, long waiting lists, out-of-stock medicines, and the high cost of living.” Borg said Malta “urgently needs a new economic model” focused on “quality jobs rather than cheap labour.”

The PN Leader reiterated his call for a national agreement on a mass transport system, warning that traffic “is costing the economy around €400 million per year.” He also criticised Labour’s refusal to test a four-day work week pilot scheme, saying “Labour has become the Party of No.”

Borg concluded that the PN is “growing as an alternative government,” united behind “leadership that truly reflects the nation’s values and aspirations.”
