Nationalist MP Adrian Delia has raised concern following claims that school devices were used to display government material related to Budget 2026. In a social media post featuring an image of a laptop with the Budget slogan “Ekonomija b’saħħitha, futur għal uliedna,” Dr Delia posted that “this morning, electronic devices in schools are being used for government propaganda about the Budget.”
He questioned the practice, writing, “Have we reached this point? Schools are not the voice or platform of the Government.” He added that education “should be an investment in the future” and that “no political campaign should cross their threshold.”
Delia concluded that “our children deserve respect, support, opportunities, and full investment — not partisan manipulation.”
It is a known fact that most laptops and computers across the public service periodically have their lock screens or wallpapers changed to display government messages or notices — a practice often used to promote new initiatives or public information.
