PN Leader Alex Borg said a new Nationalist Government would provide stronger support for voluntary organisations and place families and quality of life at the centre of national priorities.
Speaking during a mass rally in Mqabba, Borg said the PN wants “a Malta that breathes again,” adding that the country should prioritise “quality of life before quantity” and “families before propaganda.”
He praised the strong culture of volunteering in the locality and outlined several proposals aimed at helping NGOs. These include a reduction of around 15% in utility bills, the removal of electricity meter rental charges, full VAT refunds for voluntary organisations and tax credits on donations made to NGOs. The PN also pledged to extend schemes allowing eligible NGOs to purchase Government property.
Borg also referred to local traditions and hobbies in Mqabba, promising that Maltese traditions and cultural activities would continue to be safeguarded and strengthened.
During the speech, the PN leader highlighted several proposals from the party’s electoral manifesto, including new hospitals, free cancer medicines, lower taxes, cheaper electricity bills and the implementation of a mass transport system, with the first major transport line planned within the first five years of a Nationalist Government.
He also said the PN is committed to addressing overpopulation through new population policies, infrastructure investment and reforms to identity-related services.
