The Labour Party has unveiled a new set of proposals from its electoral manifesto titled “Int Malta – Your Dream, Our Project”, placing a strong focus on workers across Malta and Gozo. The announcement during a press conference addressed by Prime Minister and Labour Leader Robert Abela.

During the conference, Abela stated that “every Maltese and Gozitan worker will be given a bonus,” adding that this measure will also apply to single individuals. The proposal forms part of a broader effort to increase financial support for workers in different employment situations.

It was explained that, if the Labour Party is entrusted with government following the upcoming election on 30 May, all full-time workers will benefit from an annual bonus of €1,000. The same measure will also apply to workers whose income is equivalent to the minimum wage, including those working part-time but earning above that threshold.

For part-time workers earning less than €12,000 annually, the proposal includes a pro-rata bonus. However, it was specified that this amount “will not be less than €500,” ensuring a minimum level of support.
