More than 80 Maltese industry leaders participated in the largest-ever business delegation from Malta to visit China, as part of an initiative led by the Property Malta Foundation. The delegation, composed mainly of representatives from the property and real estate sectors, was headed by Dr Jonathan Attard, Minister for Justice and the Reform of the Construction Sector.

Speaking at the opening of the LPS Shanghai Luxury Property Exhibition, Minister Attard presented Malta as a strategic and reliable destination for investment. He emphasised that “Malta is open for business,” adding that events like LPS Shanghai “are bridges that connect economies, cultures, and people.” He invited investors to join Malta’s vision for “sustainable growth and innovation.”
The Minister highlighted Malta’s stability, strong legal framework, and quality of life, describing the country as offering long-term value for investors seeking both financial and lifestyle benefits. He noted that “Property Malta is at the heart of our transformation,” promoting Malta globally while supporting reforms that reinforce trust in the sector.

Recent findings by KPMG were referenced, showing that the property and construction sector represents nearly 14% of Malta’s Gross Value Added. Key initiatives showcased in Shanghai included the upcoming Property Price Register, the National Building and Construction Code, and regulatory reforms to enhance professionalism.
