The Government has launched ParksInMalta, a new digital web app offering the public instant access to over 200 open and recreational spaces across Malta and Gozo. The initiative was announced by Minister for the Environment, Energy and Public Cleanliness Miriam Dalli and Minister for Health and Active Ageing Jo Etienne Abela under the theme “Ekonomija b’Saħħitha – Futur għal Uliedna.”

Developed by Project Green, the app identifies features such as wheelchair-accessible paths, inclusive play areas, outdoor gyms, public toilets and picnic spots. “This is one of the initiatives closest to my heart,” said Minister Dalli. “In just a few seconds, you can see where to find more than 200 gardens, parks, and playgrounds where people can relax.” She added that the 2026 Budget allocates a record €275 million for her ministry — a 26% increase over two years.

Minister Abela stressed that open spaces are essential for mental wellbeing, adding that the Government is investing in “community-based care where people can find help just steps from their home.” He also highlighted plans for three new community mental health centres in Malta.
