Nationalist Party Leader Alex Borg has described the strong vote of confidence he received as a clear mandate for the party to continue its programme of renewal, placing greater emphasis on unity, discipline and staying close to the people.
Speaking during an interview on NET TV and NET FM, Borg said the result gives the party a clear direction for the future. He stated that the vote is a “clear mandate for the Party to continue on the path of renewal, with greater unity, discipline and a stronger presence among the people.”
Borg also stressed that the Nationalist Party will remain focused on the everyday realities facing Maltese and Gozitan families. He referred to the difficulties experienced by many people due to power cuts, as well as problems affecting their localities. According to Borg, these issues will continue to be among the party’s priorities as it seeks to address concerns raised by communities.
Looking ahead, Borg said the PN will continue presenting concrete solutions while holding the Government accountable for the promises it has made. He added that the party will also press ahead with its internal reform process so that it becomes “more open, modern and always closer to the people.”
