ADPD and Momentum have officially concluded discussions to cooperate in the upcoming general election, following a series of meetings between representatives of both parties. The agreement emphasises that “each party will maintain its identity,” while recognising that there are “enough common thoughts and ideas on which there can be collaboration.”
The primary aim of this cooperation is to “jointly strengthen the voice and effectiveness of the third party.” Both sides have outlined a coordinated strategy intended to improve their electoral impact while respecting their individual political identities.
This coordinated effort will focus on practical electoral planning. Among the key measures is the decision to “coordinate which candidates will appear on which districts,” ensuring a more structured approach in contesting seats. Additionally, the parties will “send a clear message to the electorate to make good use of the transferability of the vote.”
Voters are being encouraged to give “their first preferences to the candidates of their preferred party” and then continue ranking candidates from both ADPD and Momentum. This, they argue, will help “maximise the value of their vote.”
Key reference figures in this collaboration include Carmel Cacopardo for ADPD and Mark Camilleri Gambin for Momentum.
