The Labour Party has stated that what it described as “the PN’s €400 million myth” has been debunked. The party said that “today the myth that the Nationalist Party has been blowing out of proportion for a long time has vanished after an international tribunal not only found that the €400 million were not stolen, as Alex Borg and the Nationalist Party said, but that there is still just under €5 million left to be paid by the Government.”
According to the Labour Party, the tribunal’s findings confirmed that there was no theft of funds, countering claims made by the Nationalist Party and its leader. The statement accused Alex Borg of failing to “safeguard the national interest,” saying he had instead “opted to believe whoever invented this myth of a €400 million robbery.”
The party concluded that this outcome should serve as a reminder that the Government acted responsibly and that the Opposition’s allegations were exaggerated and unfounded.
