The Labour Party continued its outreach meetings with families to discuss measures introduced in Budget 2026, particularly the reduction in the tax rate for parents. According to the PL, this initiative will benefit around 68,000 families, in addition to this year’s tax cut, which saved families and workers a combined €140 million.
Deputy Leader Alex Agius Saliba met with the Micallef family in Santa Venera, discussing how new measures help parents with education and daily expenses. The family welcomed the 15% stipend increase, a €500 annual grant for three years, and six months of free gym access for students, alongside a €500 technology grant.
Meanwhile, PL President Alex Sciberras met the Ciantar family in Żabbar, who noted that the new tax reduction and ongoing child allowance increases, together with free childcare, significantly ease their financial burden. Agius Saliba said these measures “will help families live a better quality of life by distributing the wealth being created fairly to all.”
The Labour Party reaffirmed that its mission is to strengthen families and ensure social progress through fair economic growth.
