The Sliema Arts Festival 2026 is taking place between 17 and 19 July, bringing art and culture back to the streets of Sliema through a three-day programme designed to celebrate creativity, community and public spaces. Organised by the Sliema Local Council with the support of the Ministry for Local Government and Public Works, the festival features street art, murals, paintings, music, dance, workshops, artisan markets and family activities.
The festival was officially presented by Minister for Local Government and Public Works Alison Zerafa Civelli, Sliema Mayor John Pillow, and Arts Council Malta Executive Chairman Luke Dalli, who highlighted the event’s role in promoting culture, community participation and the use of public spaces. The minister said the government remains committed to supporting local councils through initiatives that improve residents’ quality of life and strengthen local identity. She added that supporting festivals such as this reflects the government’s commitment to creating “more vibrant, inclusive and sustainable communities.”
