The Electoral Commission has announced that it has been entrusted by the President of the Republic to hold casual elections in the 3rd, 10th, 5th, 7th, 7th, 10th and 12th electoral districts.
According to the Commission, these districts were ceded respectively by Dr Stephen Spiteri, Mark Anthony Sammut, Dr Conrad Borg Manche’, Dr Adrian Delia, Dr Rebekah Borg, Dr Joseph Giglio and Dr Alexander Borg. The official writ is being published in today’s Government Gazette.
The Commission said it will now receive nominations from candidates “to fill these seats as Members of the House of Representatives.” Eligible candidates are those who contested the same districts in the General Election of 30 May 2026, were not elected, and have the necessary qualifications to be elected.
Nominations may be submitted from Tuesday 9 June until Saturday 13 June 2026 at the Electoral Commission Office, Ex-Trade Fair Grounds, Naxxar, between 9am and noon. Online applications may also be submitted.
Vote counting for these casual elections will take place on Tuesday 16 June 2026 from 9am onwards.
