During today’s Mass, Archbishop Charles Scicluna delivered a message centred on hope, peace, and trust in Jesus. He reminded the faithful that Jesus offers both courage and comfort, calling people to find peace in Him. Quoting Saint George Preca, he recalled the words: “Our God is a God of peace.” The Archbishop also reflected on Jesus’ promise that “in the Father’s house there is a place for each and every one of us,” reinforcing the message that even in the face of death, Easter hope remains alive. He emphasised that Christ will return for us, “to take us with Him.”
In a world marked by confusion, fake news, and a culture of violence, the Archbishop stressed that Jesus remains constant. He described Him as “the Way that leads us, the Truth that enlightens us, and the Life that sustains us from beginning to end.” The faithful were invited to welcome Jesus and allow Him to reveal God’s true nature. As he explained, “whoever encounters Jesus, encounters the heart of God,” highlighting His gentleness and humility.
The Archbishop concluded by speaking of God as one “full of tenderness… who lifts us from our weakness and sustains us.” How does this message of peace and hope resonate in your daily life?
