Police Constable Mark Farrugia was remembered today on the 27th anniversary of his passing, with tribute paid to his service, sacrifice, and enduring legacy in Malta. As recalled, “On 20 March 1999, PC Farrugia had just returned home from a night shift when he was tragically murdered on his parents’ doorstep in Tarxien.” His death remains one of deep sorrow, and his memory continues to be honoured with respect and gratitude.

The commemoration highlighted how his “service and sacrifice remain forever etched in our memory.” Earlier today, wreaths were laid at his bust in Tarxien together with Mark’s parents, in what was described as “a mark of respect and remembrance.” The ceremony served as a quiet but powerful moment to reflect on his dedication and the price he paid in the line of duty.

The tribute concluded with a clear message of gratitude and remembrance: “We honour his legacy. We remember his dedication. We will never forget.”
Eternal rest grant unto him, O Lord.
