Prime Minister Robert Abela announced a series of new proposals aimed at supporting businesses and young entrepreneurs during a discussion held in Santa Luċija.
Among the main proposals, Dr Abela revealed that a future Labour Government would launch the “National Business Wallet,” a digital platform where businesses can securely store digital versions of documents, licences, and permits. He explained that the system would complement the Central Data Repository, where information is submitted once, used only with consent, and verified securely and transparently.
According to Dr Abela, the National Business Wallet will provide immediate access to information, reduce bureaucracy, and speed up administrative processes for businesses.
Another proposal announced by the Prime Minister is that young people setting up a start-up business would receive free legal assistance services and would also be exempt from paying Malta Business Registry (MBR) fees during the first five years of their business.
Dr Abela also announced a mentorship programme involving local entrepreneurs to help young people gain the knowledge needed to build their businesses successfully.
These proposals follow the recent launch of the “Intrapriża 16” initiative, allowing youths aged between 16 and 18 to establish their first business within a regulated and responsible framework.
