The Civil Protection of Malta has issued a public update detailing the scale of incidents handled over the past 24 hours as Storm Harry continues to affect the Maltese Islands.

According to the statement, emergency teams responded to “42 tree obstructions” and carried out “23 debris clearance operations” across various localities. In addition, authorities dealt with “2 billboard sign incidents” and “1 person locked in a lift,” highlighting the diverse nature of storm-related hazards encountered.

The update further confirmed responses to “1 electrical hazard,” “6 HAZMAT spillages,” and “6 rubbish fires,” as well as “3 vehicle fire incidents.” Emergency services also provided “1 police assistance” and conducted “2 medical extrications” during the same period.

In light of ongoing risks, the public has been urged to strictly follow safety guidance. Authorities reiterated: “Remain indoors unless absolutely necessary” and stressed, “Do NOT call 112 unless it is a genuine emergency,” to ensure emergency lines remain available. Residents were also warned to avoid working at heights, stay away from coastal areas, secure loose items, and drive with caution.
