The Malta Police Force has highlighted a series of arrests, arraignments and court outcomes recorded during the past week as part of a recap of police work across the country.
According to the Police, six men and one woman were arrested and arraigned in separate domestic violence cases. A man was also arraigned after allegedly filming his friend engaging in sexual activity and sharing the footage without the woman’s consent.
Other cases included a man accused of taking cash left at an ATM in Ħamrun and another arraigned over alleged cocaine trafficking from a residence in Naxxar.
Two men were arraigned following a drug trafficking operation in which amphetamine, ketamine and other suspected illegal substances were seized. Separate arraignments involved an alleged bail breach, a brawl outside a Marsa coffee shop and a sexual assault case.
The Police also highlighted two court sentences. One man received 14 years in prison after admitting to the attempted murder of a woman in St Julian’s. Another was jailed for 18 months and fined €7,500 after admitting to assaulting two police officers and attempting to bribe a third.
The Force thanked officers for their “exemplary dedication” and the public for its “continued cooperation.”
