Malta’s new Cabinet was officially sworn in today at the President’s Palace in Valletta, in the presence of President Myriam Spiteri Debono.

The Cabinet was chosen to reflect the Government’s commitment to implement the electoral manifesto endorsed by the people. The Government said its work will focus on “the creation of wealth and investment in people’s quality of life”, while continuing to deliver strong economic results.

The new Cabinet includes a number of Ministers who will continue serving in areas they were responsible for during the previous legislature, while others have been given new ministerial responsibilities. Some Deputies who previously served as Parliamentary Secretaries have also been appointed to Ministerial roles.

Ian Borg has been appointed Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Health.
Owen Bonnici has been appointed Minister for Accommodation and Lands.
Michael Falzon has been appointed Minister for Social Policy and the Family.
Anton Refalo has been appointed Minister for Agriculture, Fisheries and Food Supply.
Silvio Schembri has been appointed Minister for the Economy, Technology and Strategic Projects.
Julia Farrugia has been appointed Minister for Inclusion and Voluntary Work.
Clint Camilleri has been appointed Minister for Gozo.
Byron Camilleri has been appointed Minister for Education and Sport.
Miriam Dalli has been appointed Minister for Energy, the Environment and the Regeneration of the Grand Harbour.
Clyde Caruana has been appointed Minister for Finance.
Clifton Grima has been appointed Minister for Justice, Research and Innovation.
Jonathan Attard has been appointed Minister for Planning, Infrastructure and Labour.
Jo Etienne Abela has been appointed Minister for Tourism.

Alison Zerafa Civelli has been appointed Minister for Local Government and Public Works.
Keith Azzopardi Tanti has been appointed Minister for European Funds, Social Dialogue and Consumer Protection.
Glenn Bedingfield has been appointed Minister for Home Affairs and Security.
Malcolm Paul Agius Galea has been appointed Minister for the Arts, Culture and National Heritage.
Omar Farrugia has been appointed Minister for Youth, Wellbeing and the Implementation of the Electoral Programme.
Rosianne Cutajar has been appointed Minister for Equality and Civil Rights.
Parliamentary Secretaries
Deo Debattista has been appointed Parliamentary Secretary within the Office of the Deputy Prime Minister and the Ministry for Health, with responsibility for Active Ageing.
Alicia Bugeja Said has been appointed Parliamentary Secretary within the Ministry for Energy, the Environment and the Regeneration of the Grand Harbour, with responsibility for Animal Welfare.
The Government said the formation of the Cabinet is aimed at ensuring the implementation of measures that make people’s lives “easier, better and more beautiful.”
