Partit Nazzjonalista leader Alex Borg has unveiled a new set of electoral proposals focused on supporting small businesses, microenterprises, NGOs and voluntary organisations.

Speaking during a press conference alongside candidates Adrian Delia and David Pace Ross, Borg announced seven proposals aimed at reducing financial burdens on businesses and community organisations.

Among the proposals, a future Nationalist government pledged to reduce tax for microenterprises from 35% to 15%, while small businesses would see their tax rate lowered from 35% to 25%. The VAT exemption threshold would also be increased from €35,000 to €70,000 in annual income, effectively doubling the current limit.

The PN also proposed fully funded specialised training provided by employers, meaning businesses would not bear training costs. Additional measures include offering industrial spaces for Maltese small businesses and granting voluntary organisations full VAT refunds on goods and services linked to their mission.

Another proposal would introduce a 30% tax credit on donations of up to €50,000 annually, alongside an extension of the government property purchase scheme for NGOs.

Alex Borg stated that the measures are designed to leave “more money in people’s pockets” so entrepreneurs can continue investing and expanding their businesses in Malta. He also insisted that all proposals have been costed, are feasible and would be implemented by a Nationalist government.
