During the conference, Abela stated that “every Maltese and Gozitan worker will be given a bonus,” adding that this measure will also apply to single individuals. The proposal forms part of a broader effort to increase financial support for workers in different employment situations.
It was explained that, if the Labour Party is entrusted with government following the upcoming election on 30 May, all full-time workers will benefit from an annual bonus of €1,000. The same measure will also apply to workers whose income is equivalent to the minimum wage, including those working part-time but earning above that threshold.
