The Leader of the Partit Nazzjonalista, Alex Borg, continued his visits to local businesses, emphasising that a future Nationalist Government would address the challenges faced by Maltese companies while supporting their expansion abroad.

During visits to Foster Clark in San Ġwann and Camilleri Group in Tal-Ħandaq, Borg met workers and management, stating that companies should be supported “not only to keep growing and investing locally, but also to expand into foreign markets.” Both companies were described as family businesses that have successfully diversified and entered international markets.

At Foster Clark, Borg observed production processes including products such as custard, jelly, beverages and cake mixes. The company exports over 99% of its production to around 80 countries. He noted the advanced automation and praised the company’s investment in employee training and reskilling. Company officials, including Managing Director Joseph Busuttil, expressed appreciation for the visit and support towards Maltese businesses.

At Camilleri Group, whose origins date back to 1843, directors highlighted the importance of a “level playing field” and ongoing challenges. The group operates 25 stores and employs 220 full-time workers. Borg reiterated his commitment that a Nationalist Government would support such enterprises and address their concerns.
