The Partit Nazzjonalista has welcomed the announcement of a temporary ceasefire between the United States and Iran, describing it as a “much-needed pause after weeks of intense conflict.” The party stated that this development offers an important opportunity to move away from confrontation and towards constructive dialogue.
In a statement, the PN emphasised that the ceasefire “represents an opportunity to shift from confrontation to constructive dialogue,” and called for it to serve as a turning point towards “lasting peace, meaningful dialogue, and stability for all affected communities.” The party urged all sides involved to commit to sustained negotiations so that the current truce becomes a solid foundation for long-term stability.
The statement further reiterated the PN’s position in favour of peaceful conflict resolution, encouraging both regional and global leaders to prioritise diplomacy and mutual understanding. It stressed the importance of negotiations that lead to “a durable and just peace for all affected populations,” not only in the Middle East but internationally.
The message was endorsed by Beppe Fenech Adami and Beppe Galea, who concluded with a clear message: “Diplomacy must prevail over war.” Could this ceasefire mark the beginning of lasting peace?
