The Prime Minister visited Gozo Graphics, a company based in Gozo that specialises in large-format digital printing, signage manufacturing, and the provision of products and solutions related to architectural applications. The company also offers 3D printing, machining, and scanning services.
During the visit, the Prime Minister met with the company’s employees and the team behind Area 51, an industrial facility designed by the company to provide Maltese start-ups with opportunities comparable to those available to European hardware-focused enterprises. The facility includes technological infrastructure for precision manufacturing and large-scale prototyping, including monolithic additive manufacturing, CNC machinery, and industrial laser systems for metal processing. Through Area 51, the company also provides secure infrastructure for the development and protection of intellectual property.
Gozo Graphics has also launched a private fund of €100,000 aimed at innovative projects. Through this initiative, the company will provide direct support to the private sector, strengthening the ecosystem of innovative start-ups and enabling them to move beyond the prototype stage towards real production.
The Prime Minister stated that private projects of this nature contribute directly to a more diversified, value-added economy while creating new opportunities for young people and professionals in Gozo. He highlighted the importance of quality careers and noted that, through public entities such as Malta Enterprise, the Government is supporting companies that continue to invest in innovative equipment and future-oriented industries. He also said that Malta Vision 2050, to be announced in the coming weeks, will prioritise sectors that generate added value for the country.
