Opposition Leader and Partit Nazzjonalista Leader Alex Borg held his first official meeting with Archbishop Charles J. Scicluna at the Archbishop’s Curia in Floriana. The meeting comes shortly before Borg marks his first 100 days in office. Archbishop Scicluna congratulated him on his appointment, wished him continued success, and praised his commitment to remaining “constantly among the people,” emphasising the importance of staying close to the public and listening to their concerns.
During the meeting, Borg spoke about his recent visit to the San Blas Therapeutic Centre run by Caritas Malta, outlining his intention to continue pushing forward policies ensuring that no individual facing social challenges is left behind. The Archbishop highlighted the significant work carried out by Caritas, paying tribute to the late Monsignor Victor Grech, founder of Caritas Malta, who dedicated his life to supporting vulnerable individuals. He described Caritas as an “important brand of the Church in Malta” providing essential assistance to people struggling with addiction.
Auxiliary Bishop Monsignor Joseph Galea-Curmi was also present for the meeting.
