A new musical learning space has been launched at the Għaqda Każin Banda San Filep A.D. 1851 in Ħaż-Żebbuġ, following a €20,000 investment aimed at improving music education for students.
Minister for Inclusion and Voluntary Organisations Julia Farrugia said the project, titled “Indoqqu Flimkien: Spazju għal Ensemble Mużikali fil-qalba tal-komunità,” was financed through the Voluntary Organisations Project Scheme of the Malta Council for the Voluntary Sector.

The new room will benefit dozens of music students, with each session able to host around 25 students. The first group to use the space is expected to graduate and start playing their instruments in the coming years.
Minister Farrugia said the project reflects the Government’s continued support for voluntary organisations, adding that this year is dedicated to volunteering. She said the Government will continue investing in organisations that improve the quality of life of families and individuals.
MCVS CEO Mauro Pace Parascandalo noted that Banda San Filep has made use of council funds before, while society president Dr Philip Sciortino described the space as “precious and accessible to everyone.”
The room includes plastering, painting, acoustic treatment, improved lighting, and storage for instruments and books.
