Speaking during an event in Żurrieq, Prime Minister Robert Abela said the the Government’s vision goes beyond traditional economic measures, stating that “for the first time, a political party will evaluate the impact of its proposals on well-being and quality of life.” He explained that the electoral manifesto aims to achieve an increase of over 25% in family well-being, while highlighting that previous commitments were fulfilled through tax cuts, pension increases, and financial assistance.
The Prime Minister stressed that families will remain at the centre of Government policy, announcing measures such as a €5,000 birth bonus, a €5,000 scholarship fund, €1,000 Erasmus grants, and €1,200 refunds on first home expenses.
He also outlined initiatives including the “Kickstart” scheme, offering tax exemption on the first €30,000 earned over three years, and the “My First Home” scheme, with Government covering up to a quarter of a home loan, alongside increased parental leave and pension boosts.
